Yutori Terms of Service

Yutori and its affiliates ("Yutori," "we," "our") require that all clients ("you") using our services, websites, digital services, or any travel-related offerings agree to the following terms and conditions. By engaging our services, you acknowledge and accept these terms.

1. Payment & Fees

A non-refundable service fee paid up-front applies to our itinerary design as well as accommodation curation services. This fee does not include the cost of hotels, tours, excursions, meals, transportation, or any other travel-related expenses, which are billed separately.

  • A $15 per person ticketing fee applies to Shinkansen bullet train reservations, and certain attractions. We will always obtain written permission from you before procuring such tickets.

  • Full payment for third-party bookings (e.g., hotels, tours) must be made before reservations are confirmed. Prices and availability are subject to change until payment is processed.

  • For accommodations outside our extensive FORA partner network, a 12% service fee applies in lieu of commission.

2. Limitation of Liability

Yutori’s total liability for any claims arising from its services shall not exceed the amount paid by the client for those specific services.

  • Yutori acts as an intermediary for third-party travel service providers and does not assume responsibility for errors, omissions, cancellations, delays, or service failures by airlines, hotels, tour operators, or other third-party providers. Clients agree that any disputes related to third-party services must be addressed directly with the provider.

  • Yutori is not liable for injuries, losses, damages, delays, or additional expenses resulting from weather, natural disasters, medical emergencies, government actions, strikes, or other circumstances beyond our control.

  • By agreeing to these terms, you waive any claims against Yutori for third-party service failures.

3. Confidentiality & Privacy

Yutori respects the confidentiality of all client communications and will not share your photos or travel details without explicit consent.

  • While Yutori takes reasonable precautions to protect client information, we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted electronically and are not responsible for unauthorized access or breaches beyond our control.

  • We are not responsible for confidentiality breaches by third-party providers, whose privacy policies may differ.

4. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip investment.

  • Yutori can assist in connecting you with travel insurance providers but is not a licensed insurance agent.

  • All policy inquiries must be directed to the travel insurance provider.

  • Yutori is not responsible for trip cancellations, delays, or interruptions due to unforeseen circumstances.

5. Passports, Visas & Medications

  • Your passport must have at least six months of validity remaining for international travel.

  • You are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with visa, entry, and vaccination requirements for all destinations, including layover countries.

  • Japan enforces strict drug laws, and certain prescription medications may require prior approval for entry. Clients are responsible for verifying requirements with their local consulate before travel.

  • We are not liable for disruptions due to passport, visa, or medication-related issues.

6. Flight & Transportation Responsibility

Clients are responsible for verifying flight schedules and any changes directly with the airline. Yutori is not liable for missed connections, schedule changes, cancellations, delays, or other airline-related disruptions.

  • We recommend reconfirming your flights directly with the airline and checking for last-minute changes 24 hours before departure.

  • For departures, we advise arriving 3 hours early for international flights and 2 hours early for domestic flights.

  • Clients are also responsible for verifying train and transfer schedules once booked. Yutori is not responsible for changes to train schedules or disruptions.

  • Yutori does not provide airline ticketing services and is not responsible for airline booking errors, fare changes, or refund processing. All flight-related inquiries should be directed to the airline or booking platform used.

7. Cancellation & Refunds

  • Yutori’s planning fees are non-refundable.

  • If rescheduling is necessary, payments already made may be applied to a new itinerary.

  • Refunds for hotels, tours, and other travel services are strictly subject to third-party provider cancellation policies. Yutori does not guarantee refunds and is not responsible for any penalties imposed by providers.

  • Clients must review and adhere to third-party cancellation policies. Yutori will assist with refund requests when applicable, but refunds are subject to third-party provider policies and are not guaranteed.

8. Force Majeure

Neither Yutori nor the client is liable for performance failures due to uncontrollable events, including but not limited to natural disasters, civil unrest, pandemics, or government-imposed travel restrictions.

  • In such cases, Yutori will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or provide alternative solutions, but refunds will be subject to third-party provider policies.

  • Clients acknowledge that unforeseen global events may affect their travel plans. Yutori will provide alternative solutions where possible, but additional costs may apply.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • This agreement is governed by the laws of California, USA.

  • Any disputes shall first be resolved through good faith negotiations. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be settled through mediation or arbitration before proceeding to litigation in California courts.

  • Each party shall bear its own costs related to mediation, arbitration, or litigation.

10. Authorization & Agreement

By proceeding with Yutori’s services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

  • By engaging Yutori’s services, you authorize us to charge your credit card for applicable fees and travel-related costs.

  • Yutori will always obtain your permission via email before incurring additional expenses related to your trip.
